A good stance provides a solid base and encourages the proper balance necessary to hit good shorts. If your feet are too far apart or too close together it's hard to swing in balance and achieve solid contact.Click Here!

A simple way to determine whether your stance is the correct width is to check your finish. Here's where you should be at the end of your swing: Your weight should be on your left foot. Your right heel must be off the ground. Your right knee should be target. And that's the test. If your right knee is nearer the target than your left, your stance was too narrow; if it was too wide, your left knee will finish closest to the hole.Click Here!

LESSON - 2

From the Fair way: Take One Club more and 'Arm' It

Obviously, if you have to hit a green, you need to emphasize accuracy. The best way to do that is to hit what i call an "arm shot".Click Here!

First, take one club more than you normally would. This isn't a shot you want to hit hard. Play the ball just inisde your left heel, then take the club back low, with little wrist cock. A three - quarter backswing is about right.
The real key to this shot is the downswing. Drive the clubhead through the hitting area keeping your left wrist as firm as you can.

Again that will keep the clubhead moving down the target line for as long as possible.
This isn't a swing that will produce, a long follow - through. It's a shorter, abbreviated action because you're limiting your hand action through impact.Click Here!

LESSON - 3
KEEP BALL CLOSE TO THE GROUND
If you stand on the fringe and roll a bal toward the hole, the chances are good that you'll get it close. Why? Because all you have to think about is the roll of the ball. How much it'll spin on landing isn't part of the equation.
The trick now is to make your chip shots roll the same way Click Here!

1. Take a club with enough loft, say an 8 - iron, to land the bal on the edge of the green. Play the ball in the middle of your stance, your hands ahead at address.

2. Hit down on the ball keeping your left wrist firm through impact in order to "trap" the ball, sending it off on a low trajectory.

LESSON - 4
A TIP ON HEIGHT
To change the height you hit a pitch shot, don’t move the ball within your stance; move your feet;
1. Here’s my address position for a standard pitch

2. If I want a lower shot, I widen my stance by moving my left foot targetward.

3. If I want a higher trajectory, I move my right foot away from the hole. Sometimes golf is easy.

LESSON - 5
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T GET CUTE
There are times when hitting an approach shot into a bunker is not a bad play. When the greenside rough is thick and deep, hitting from the sand gives you a few more options, especially if you are a good bunker player. But don’t get too ambitious. Even the best professionals in the world get up and down only about 60 percent of the time. So, if you are like most players, more realistic goal is simply getting the ball onto the putting surface.
Preparation is everything
1. Set up with the clubhead above the spot where you want it to enter the edge directly over the ball. That distorts your perspective and is a needless complication.

Next, open ( align to the left of the target) and widen your stance as you flex your knees. Placing your feet farther apart helps stop any sliding through impact – a common fault I see in many players. And opening your stance clears your hips and shoulders out of the way, making it easier to deliver the clubhead under the ball on an out to – in path.
2. You don’t have to exaggerate this swing path by taking the club back outside the target line. The slightly open stance will dictate the shape of your swing to a large extent and do the job for you. So don’t worry about it.
As for the shot itself, imagine the ball is sitting on a tree.

3. Then “slice” the ball off the tree. Don’t think about hitting an inch or two inches behind the ball. That will only encourage you to swing too steeply into the ball, digging the clubhead into the sand.

4. Instead, visualize the clubhead sliding under the ball, knocking the tree out on the wayClick Here!

NEXT LESSON ..
